Some Clinical Experiences of Compound Basic Aluminum Sucrose Sulfate on Treatment of Peptic Ulcer and Acute Gastritis

Abstract
|
|
|
A Clinical study for the effectivety of compound basic aluminum sucrose sulfate on treatment of peptic ulcer, gastritis and hyperacidity was performed.
Forty patients were diagnosed by endoscopic examination, of which 10 cases-being gastric ulcer, 10 cases duodenal ulcer, 10 cases acute erosive gastritis and 10 cases hyperacidity. Follow up evaluation was done clinically, as well as endoscopic examinations and gastric juice analysis.
The results obtained were as follows;
1) Symptomatic improvement was noted in 91.9 percent of cases, epigastric pain which was the most common complaint, was disappeared in 94.2 percent and hunger pain was subsided in 89.2 percent, nausea and vomiting were subsided in 95 and 100%, respectively.
2) Objective improvement by endoscopic follow up examination was noted in 90.0 percent. The drug was more effective in gastritis (100%) & hyperacidity (100%) than peptic ulcer (80%).
3) There was no peculiar side effect during treatment except 2 cases observed suspected habituation of constipation.
